{"id":24879,"date":"2018-03-27T09:55:15","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T13:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=24879"},"modified":"2018-03-27T09:55:17","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T13:55:17","slug":"kmc-gymnasts-fare-well-at-sweetheart-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=24879","title":{"rendered":"KMC gymnasts fare well at Sweetheart International"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_6804\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/KMC-USAIGC-2018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6804\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6804\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/KMC-USAIGC-2018-350x232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"232\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6804\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The KMC Gymnastic Team<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Over 330 USAIGC gymnasts representing 13 teams from across the region participated in the 5<sup>th<\/sup> Annual KMC Sweetheart Invitational over the weekend of Feb 17-18 hosted by KMC Gymnastics in Kennett Square. \u00a0This two-day event included athletes who competed at Copper 1, Copper 2, Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels on four events: balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault.\u00a0 Team, individual, and all-around awards were recognized.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Impressive performances were delivered by all of the 43 USAIGC gymnasts from KMC.\u00a0 Leading the gymnasts to victory was Head Coach Iryna Aliyevska, Jerry Fix, and Don Furrer.\u00a0 According to Coach Iryna, \u201cIt was a great meet for our team. Individual and all-around scores were high and all of the KMC team levels placed in the top 3.\u00a0 The girls have worked very hard this season and I was very proud of them.\u201d \u00a0Highest all-around score for KMC for the entire competition was achieved by Silver gymnast Jenna Lamberth who scored 37.55<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Team Awards<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 1<sup>st<\/sup> place:\u00a0 Copper 1, Bronze, and Silver teams. 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place: Gold team. 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place: Copper 2 team.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Individual Awards<\/u><\/strong>: The following gymnasts placed in 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, or 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place for individual events and\/or all-around:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copper 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 \u00a0Bars: Sierra Seefeldt (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Lily Jefferson (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Devon Rifenburg (3<sup>rd<\/sup>).\u00a0 Beam: Elyssa Henry (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Sierra Seefeldt (2<sup>nd<\/sup>).\u00a0 Floor: Elyssa Henry (3<sup>rd<\/sup>).\u00a0 Vault: Alyson Hill (3<sup>rd<\/sup>).\u00a0 All-Around: Sierra Seefeldt (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Elyssa Henry (3<sup>rd<\/sup>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copper 2 (age 7-8)<\/strong>:\u00a0 Beam: Abby Livingston (2<sup>nd<\/sup>).\u00a0 Floor: Gayle Reyburn (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Vault: Gayle Reyburn (1<sup>st<\/sup>) Abby Livingston (3<sup>rd<\/sup>).\u00a0 All-Around: Abby Livingston (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Gayle Reyburn (3<sup>rd<\/sup>). <strong>Copper 2 (age 9)<\/strong>:\u00a0 Vault: Saige Pfeifer (1<sup>st<\/sup>)\u00a0 <strong>Copper 2 (age 10)<\/strong>:\u00a0 Floor: Alyssa Turner (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Danica Gray (2<sup>nd<\/sup>).
