The KMC Gymnastic Team<\/p><\/div>\n

Over 330 USAIGC gymnasts representing 13 teams from across the region participated in the 5th<\/sup> Annual KMC Sweetheart Invitational over the weekend of Feb 17-18 hosted by KMC Gymnastics in Kennett Square. \u00a0This two-day event included athletes who competed at Copper 1, Copper 2, Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels on four events: balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault.\u00a0 Team, individual, and all-around awards were recognized.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Impressive performances were delivered by all of the 43 USAIGC gymnasts from KMC.\u00a0 Leading the gymnasts to victory was Head Coach Iryna Aliyevska, Jerry Fix, and Don Furrer.\u00a0 According to Coach Iryna, \u201cIt was a great meet for our team. Individual and all-around scores were high and all of the KMC team levels placed in the top 3.\u00a0 The girls have worked very hard this season and I was very proud of them.\u201d \u00a0Highest all-around score for KMC for the entire competition was achieved by Silver gymnast Jenna Lamberth who scored 37.55<\/p>\n

Team Awards<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 1st<\/sup> place:\u00a0 Copper 1, Bronze, and Silver teams. 2nd<\/sup> place: Gold team. 3rd<\/sup> place: Copper 2 team.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the season, KMC\u2019s Copper 1 and Copper 2 teams earned 1st<\/sup> place at the Miracle on the Square meet in Lancaster, PA.\u00a0 In December the KMC USAIGC team traveled to Edison, NJ for the Robin Cone Memorial meet where the Bronze team earned a 1st<\/sup> place team award.\u00a0 A few weeks later at the Winter Bowl meet in Williamstown, NJ all KMC teams (Copper 1, Copper 2, Bronze, Silver, and Gold) won 1st<\/sup> place team awards.\u00a0 Following the Sweetheart Invitational, KMC went on the road again to Lancaster, PA for the Horseshoe Invitational where, once again, they earned an impressive 1st<\/sup> Place team award for all KMC USAIGC levels. \u00a0Coach Iryna Aliyevska was proud to note \u201cFollowing this meet Allie D\u2019Angelo and Leah Pellegrino qualified to move to the Bronze Diamond<\/strong> level joining Isabella Albers and Peyton Torrey\u201d.\u00a0 Last weekend KMC traveled to New Jersey to compete at Rutgers University where their teams won the following awards: Bronze (3rd<\/sup>), Silver (3rd<\/sup>), and Gold (2nd<\/sup>).\u00a0 \u00a0The KMC USAIGC gymnasts have 2 meets remaining of the regular season before they compete at States (PA), Regionals (NJ), and Worlds (FL).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
