He was taken into custody Friday and remanded to Chester County Prison.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hartzell&#8217;s bullet-riddled body was discovered on the morning of Aug. 26 behind a home of Diamond Alley \u2014 authorities said that the victim was shot 11 times. City police immediately began the hunt for his killer,\u00a0gathering<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>video<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>recordings<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>from<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>multiple <span class=\"s1\">sources, <\/span>reconstructing the event based on crime <span class=\"s1\">scene <\/span>forensics and the recordings,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>and many witness interviews.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This <\/span>was good work by<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Coatesville<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Police Department and Chester County <span class=\"s1\">Detectives,&#8221; Hogan said in a statement<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.&#8221;<\/span>They combined expert use of technology with old-fashioned police work of interviewing everybody with any connection to the <span class=\"s1\">area<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. <\/span>The <span class=\"s1\">victim<\/span><span class=\"s2\">&#8216;<\/span><span class=\"s1\">s <\/span>family expressed relief that an arrest had been made and gratitude<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>for the hard<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>work<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of law enforcement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Police are asking anyone with additional information about the case to contact Chester County Detective Jim Ciliberto at 610-<span class=\"s1\">3<\/span>44-6866 or Coatesville Detective Kevin Campbell at<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>610-384- 2300.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COATESVILLE \u2013 A city man has been charged with first degree murder in grisly killing of Alex Hartzell in late August, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said Monday.
