Raffles, music, dancing and children\u2019s entertainment\u00a0 helped to maintain a festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>To culminate \u00a0the celebration, five area residents were singled out as \u201cUnsung Hero\u201d award recipients. They included Tammy Cansler of Cansler Investment Grouop, who helped initiate the Second Avenue Senior Housing and Brandywine Center projects; and Rich Saylor, president of the Coatesville Senior Center board and former principal of CAT Brandywine.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Also recognized were Theresa Sargent, executive director of the Coatesville Senior Center; Marianna Cutler, director of the Brandywine Hospital Senior Circle and Volunteers; and Alex Sharber, who heads the Freedom Village Outreach Committee and coordinates the McNeil Children\u2019s Library at the Brandywine Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Five Coatesville-area advocates recognized as &#8216;unsung heroes&#8217; From face-painting of children to drawing attention to community advocates, the Fifth Annual Brandywine Center Healthy Families Block Party offered a host of activities this past Saturday.
