Pascal DiJoseph helps deliver much needed supplies to the Chester County Food Bank.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Avondale Barracks Community Service Officer, Tpr. Samantha Minnucci explains \u201cThe goal is to raise public awareness of the reality that despite Chester County being ranked as the wealthiest county in Pennsylvania; estimates reveal that nearly 50,000 of its residents go hungry every day. This is the first food drive of what we want to be a long term effort to help make Chester County better for all.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Troopers personally donated nearly\u00a0400 lbs. of nonperishable Thanksgiving inspired food this week, and now are seeking the community\u2019s support in keeping its food drive going.\u00a0 PASP\u2019s Avondale Barracks\u2019 lobby is a collection site for community food donations and\u00a0another delivery to the Food Bank is scheduled in time for Christmas.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1230255\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/food5-225x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1230255\" class=\"wp-image-1230255 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/food5-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"food5\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1230255\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A patrol SUV is packed with donated food ready for delivery to Chester County Food Bank.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Holiday Items &#8211; <em>Stuffing mix (boxed), instant potatoes, gravy packets or cans (please, no glass), canned fruit &amp; applesauce, canned peas, and carrots.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Other Needed Items &#8211; <em>Pasta rice \/ rice blends, peanut butter &amp; jelly, canned fish &amp; chicken (packed in water), canned vegetables, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans (canned or dried), canned fruit (in juice), whole grain cereals, canned soups, stews, and pasta.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For the safety of those served, PASP is UNABLE to accept: \u2022 <em>Open packages \u2022 Homemade food items \u2022 Items with \u201cexpired\u201d dates\u2022 Items in glass jars.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1230253\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/food2-225x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1230253\" class=\"wp-image-1230253 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/food2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"food2\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1230253\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A sampling of the food donated by Troopers from PASP&#8217;s Avondale Barracks<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Please consider supporting the PASP\u2019s efforts by donating food today and throughout the season.
