It will be unveiled Monday.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The results of an artistic process that spanned months and utilized the talents of a team of teen painters will debut Monday at the Bridge Academy in Coatesville.<\/p>\n<p>The nonprofit community center is inviting the public to participate in the unveiling of \u00a0\u201dDarkness to Light, \u201c an ambitious, collaborative mural project. The celebration of its completion will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the academy, 570 Olive Street<ins cite=\"mailto:Lindsay%20J%20Brinton\" datetime=\"2013-05-19T15:46\">.\u00a0<\/ins>Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p><ins cite=\"mailto:Lindsay%20J%20Brinton\" datetime=\"2013-05-19T15:35\">\u00a0<\/ins>Since September, about 15 students from seventh to 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade have gathered every Monday\u00a0\u00a0with Lancaster muralist Shawn Wanner to work on the project. \u201cI was only the facilitator,\u201d Wanner said, crediting the students with sparking the project\u2019s direction.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Wanner, who works with the ArtPartners Studio, said through conversations with students, \u201cwe distilled the idea of Coatesville going from darkness to light,\u201d and the teens chose depictions that represented painful memories as well as positive ones, culminating with images that suggest a bright future. \u201cThe students are excited to positively influence Coatesville, and they have displayed their hopes and dreams in this mural,\u201d Wanner \u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>Participating students will present testimonials on the project, and \u00a0adult organizers will also be on hand make remarks and admire the results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Darkness to Light\u201d mural also commemorates a three-year ART partnership between the Bridge Academy and ArtPartners Studio, two committed, community youth nonprofits in Coatesville.\u00a0 The partnership has inspired youthful creativity in classes ranging from drawing and hip-hop to art gardens and digital imaging.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Collaborative,\u00a0months-long\u00a0project depicts \u2018hopes and dreams\u2019 of \u00a0Coatesville youth The results of an artistic process that spanned months and utilized the talents of a team of teen painters will debut Monday at the Bridge Academy in Coatesville.
