Pictured standing (from left to right) are Joyce Selke, Cramer\u2019s daughter; Jared Selke, Cramer\u2019s great-grandson; Senator Dinniman; Tony Selke, Cramer\u2019s grandson; and Connor Selker, Cramer\u2019s great-grandson.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>WEST CHESTER \u2014 State Senator Andy Dinniman recently recognized Edna Cramer on her 106<sup>th<\/sup> birthday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is my pleasure to join Mrs. Cramer in marking 106 great years,\u201d Dinniman said. \u201cShe is truly an inspiration and a role model for staying active in your senior years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She is the oldest living Chester County resident in memory, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Dinniman invited Cramer and her family to his West Chester District Office for cake and a celebration marking her 106 years. In addition, he presented her with a special Senate citation and a letter from Governor Wolf in honor of her birthday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Cramer, who lives in West Chester, continues to take pride in her independence. She did not retire until she was 90 years old and did not give up driving until she was 100.<\/p>\n<p>Dinniman said he came to know Cramer through his 90+ Birthday program, in which he visits senior centers and senior living facilities throughout the region to offer birthday wishes to those 90 years and older.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I first met Edna she was 96,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe that was a decade ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cramer was born in Illinois is 1909. She earned her accounting degree from Northwestern University. She married, raised a family and continued to work for most of her life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn her lifetime, Mrs. Cramer has seen 17 U.S. presidents, two World Wars and countless historical events that shaped the world we know today.
