Italian American Citizens League donates $5K to KACS

KENNETT — The Italian American Citizens League of Kennett Square donates $5,000 for the expansion of Kennett Area Community Services and the Kennett Food Cupboard.

Steve Pesce, President of the Italian American Citizens League presents Melanie Weiler, Executive Director with a check for $5,000 toward the renovation of the property at 138 West Cedar Street, directly next to the current KACS property.

With the expansion later this year, KACS will not only increase food storage, but will increase case management services to more families in need. KACS currently helps 950 families each year with nutrition assistance and over 300 families with emergency financial assistance towards expenses like rent and utilities, as well as homeless prevention and rapid re-housing services for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.

While the mission of the Italian American Club of Kennett Square is to preserve and honor the culture, traditions, and heritage of the Italian community, the club has a deep caring for the community at large.  The club is a community partner in helping families and is dedicated to improving the lives of those experiencing need in Kennett.
