Woman Pleads Guilty to Falsifying Signatures on Nominating Petitions
On July 7, 2026, Defendant Mariel Kornblith-Martin, 41, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, pled guilty to Solicitation to Unsworn Falsifications, and Filing a False Nominating Petition after she knowingly caused forged signatures on nominating petitions to be filed on behalf of an Auditor General candidate in 2024.
Defendant Kornblith-Martin was sentenced to three years of probation and a
$1,000.00 fine.
In February of 2024, a Chester County Court of Common Pleas Judge contacted the Chester County District Attorney’s Office to report that her signature had been forged on a Nominating Petition. This sprung a larger investigation by Chester County Detectives who identified that the Defendant paid three people to swear that they were circulators who had obtained valid signatures when, in fact, the signatures had been forged.
