We’re back — mostly

SickComputerC1405_M_150_C_RApologies to our readers — our primary server suffered a catastrophic hardware failure Wednesday morning and our soon to be former hosting company was simultaneously having issues with its back up drives for our network node. In tech terms, it was a bit like a tornado touching down — much damage was done, but only in certain areas.

As of right now, only three of our sites are running — this one, The Unionville Times and The Kennett Times. That’s why — if you were looking for The Coatesville Times or The Downingtown Times, you find yourself here.

Once we move to our new servers in Michigan early next week, we’ll start the work of rebuilding the two damaged sites. Unfortunately, much of the Coatesville site is likely damaged beyond repair. But, as so many have done before in much worse circumstances, we will rebuild, renew and in the process bring you a new, and even better Coatesville Times site — the first of our sites to launch our Times 2.0 initiative, which will bring new looks and a better and more consistent user experience, whether you read us on your desktop, a tablet or your smart phone.

On behalf of some of the hardest working and most dedicated folks you’ll find in our business, we again our our apologies and our thanks for the many comments of support.

Mike McGann

Editor/Publisher, The Times
