Herr’s again offers special pretzels to battle breast cancer

HerrsPretzelPinkNOTTINGHAM — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Herr’s® is partnering with the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.” The company is filling store shelves with its limited edition, ribbon-shaped Whole Grain Pretzels with Flax Seed & Honey in a specially designed pink bag in support of breast cancer awareness.

For every bag sold, Herr’s will make a 5-cent donation to “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer,” the largest network of breast cancer events in the country. Every three- to five-mile Making Strides walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about reducing the risk of getting breast cancer, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society.  Participants in Making Strides events raise critical funds that help lead the fight against this disease with groundbreaking breast cancer research, information and support for survivors and their families, and access to mammograms for women who need them.

“At Herr’s, we are passionate about supporting philanthropic organizations that give back to the communities we serve,” said Ed Herr, president of Herr Foods. “We are proud to partner with the American Cancer Society’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ program to help finish the fight and support all those who are affected by breast cancer.”

The limited edition Herr’s Whole Grain Pretzels with Flax Seed & Honey feature the rich flavors of sesame, poppy and caraway seeds complemented with a hint of sweet golden honey. They are low in fat, a good source of whole grain, and are higher in fiber than most pretzels.  The breast cancer awareness pretzels are available through the month of October at select retailers throughout the country.
